CLETV asks: “Are you ready for the new Family Law Act?”

Earlier this year (in May), CLETV — Continuing Legal Education Society of BC’s video project — held a discussion on the new Family Law Act called “Is Your Practice Ready for the New Family Law Act?” Did you miss it? We sure did. Luckily, Courthouse Libraries BC was there.

They’ve posted an article that summarizes the discussion. The article includes discussion of:

  • “significant unfairness” and what that means,
  • moving with children,
  • what misconduct now means and how it might arise in a family law case,
  • unequal division of property,
  • and much more.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Family Law Act, and our coverage hasn’t quite quenched your thirst, than take a look at The Stream’s post.
